    Anti-Brexit British Media

Part 3 12 (twelve) days before the leave date, Channel 4 broadcast another identity buster, with its' documentary on the crew of the 16th Century Royal ship, THE MARY ROSE, that sank in 1545: "Skeletons of the Mary Rose", March 17th 2019). Analysis of some of the skeletons of the hundreds onboard revealed that the crew were not exclusively white nor English. Some were from the Mediterranean and some were of North African descent. A BBC online article on the story led with the headline and sweeping generalisation: "Mary Rose crew 'was from Mediterranean and North Africa'" (March 16th 2019). 11 (eleven) days before the leave date, there were 3 TV programs of note – 2 on ITV that explored race and nationality in English football. "Out of Their Skin" (ITV, March 18th 2019) - a repeat - charted the rocky rise of black footballers in English football. Following that program was another ITV repeat – the aforementioned "Football's Foreign Legion" with a Brexit comment from Robert Peston. On BBC2 was another repeat – the last episode of "Cunk On Britain", in which spoof presenter Philomena Cunk concluded the series by saying of Britain, "...what sort of massive country am I?" (rude word insinuated). One of the writers for that spoof series was the former Channel 4 Head of Entertainment, BEN CAUDELL (a BBC Executive Producer). Part 4 below

Part 33 The NEF's UBI proposal wasn't full UBI, but intentionally was a dilute version, according to the NEF's head of macroeconomics, ALFIE STIRLING, writing in "The Guardian" newspaper (March 19th 2019). Stirling wrote that UBI "...only goes so far – free public services are essential too." This fits in with the Ruling elite's desire for a blend of UBI and UBS (Universal Basic Services). The NEF proposal was a modest WEEKLY NATIONAL ALLOWANCE aimed at those who weren't rich, and complemented by free public services, e.g. transport, childcare, Internet, housing. Stirling worked previously at IPPR, as a senior economist. A pro-UBI article was in the centre left magazine PROSPECT (December 3rd 2018), written by a dedicated UBI advocate, SCOTT SANTENS, a founding member of the American pro-UBI campaign group, the ECONOMIC SECURITY PROJECT, of which a co-chairman was the aforementioned Facebook co-founder CHRIS HUGHES. Santens belonged to other American pro-UBI campaign groups: BASIC INCOME ACTION (co-founder) and the US BIG Network (committee member). Santens wrote articles on UBI for the World Economic Forum. Part 32 Some familiar British pro-UBI faces popped up again in 2019 in March. The senior Labour Party politician JOHN MCDONNELL and former Green Party leader CAROLINE LUCAS endorsed a pro-UBI report by a think tank with close links to the Labour Party: the NEF (New Economics Foundation). A week later was a pro-UBI report that continued the work of the aforementioned STEWART LANSLEY and HOWARD REED (report published by COMPASS). The NEF origins lay in the Green movement, in particular the prominent Green campaigner JONATHON PORRITT and the Green Party's precursor, THE ECOLOGY PARTY. The NEF's funders in 2019 included George Soros' OPEN SOCIETY FOUNDATIONS; the British NHS; the Government backed ESRC (Economic and Social Research Council). The NEF's CEO in 2019 was MIATTA FAHNBULLEH (LSE education and lecturer), who at the centre left think tank IPPR was its' Director of Policy and Research. Previously, she had been a Labour Party senior adviser. A former NEF chairman, JOHN DAVIS, worked at the oil company SHELL UK, and collaborated with the famous economist E.F. SCHUMACHER ("Small Is Beautiful"), the latter a Rhodes scholar at Oxford who would be aided by the economist John Maynard Keynes. Part 33 below.
  4. A children's TV show - that I discussed in my website in the article "Espionage and the Open Society" (New Age section) - hinted of the censorship that is being triggered in response to 'fake news'. "Spy School" is a British children's TV game show in which trainee secret agents solve puzzles in order to defeat the evil villain GOLDFIST. In the episode "Operation: Fake News" (CITV, Feb 23rd 2019), Goldfist uses 'fake news' to boost his popularity in his bid to become ruler of the world. In a public speech, Goldfist imitates his hero, US President Donald Trump, whom he admires as a "fake news guru" (to quote the Spy School chief). Goldfist becomes so popular that some people want him to be knighted by the Queen. "We cannot allow that man near our Queen", says the Spy School chief, who instructs the trainee agents to shut down Goldfist's broadcasting HQ. This "Spy School" episode was broadcast a month before the official Brexit leaving date, so possibly there was a subtle dig at some of the 'fake news' associated with Brexit. 5. This continues the thread from the old forum, "Science and the '2 versus 1' debates" (in the Political Manipulation section). You can also read my article in my website in the Media section: https://thegreatworkdecoded.com The 21st century will see the rise of the '2 versus 1' debates, wherein the supposedly 'impartial' host of a debate appears to take sides, hence what should be a '1 versus 1' debate becomes '2 versus 1'. The main reason for this is that the host/chairman is adopting a supposedly scientific stance due to the increasingly dominant role of science as we move towards a science based dictatorship. I am not opposed to science and 'experts', providing they are genuinely expert with genuine scientific facts, but science has always been corrupted by Politics and Business and Religion. A good way of telling a lie or of winning an argument is to get a 'trusted expert' to deliver the lie or to make the argument, e.g. the famed physicist Stephen Hawking was deemed an 'expert' on the Brexit debate according to the British PM David Cameron who recruited Hawking for his 'remain' campaign. 2 versus 1 debates tend to occur when one side appears to have the support of science, or at least the support of the 'science consensus'. Note- a consensus of opinion is not a science fact. There are plenty of examples of the scientific consensus getting it wrong. 'Soft science', as opposed to 'Hard Science', is so-called because scientific proof is harder to come by, e.g. economics, psychology and any study of human behaviour. I saw a 2 versus 1 debate on the BBC's news channel - to be precise - the current affairs show "The Victoria Derbyshire Show", in which the dangers of immunisation were debated. You won't be surprised to hear that the BBC host (not Victoria Derbyshire, but a replacement) adopted the view of the 'scientific consensus' that immunisation was basically safe, hence the host constantly interrupted the anti-immunisers to tell them their views weren't factual or weren't aligned with the stance of the World Health Organisation. The pro-immuniser didn't have to argue much because the BBC host did her arguing for her! The 'centre ground' of Politics is increasingly adopting a more science based approach, independent from opinions (supposedly). Political 'Think Tanks' are also keen to promote their supposed independence from any particular party or philosophy, e.g. MARY ANN SIEGHART, chairman of the 'centrist' think tank, the SOCIAL MARKET FOUNDATION, boasted of its' independence from political parties. Sieghart has been a newspaper journalist. She presented a BBC Radio 4 program: "Can The Centre Hold?" In the future, opinions will be shunned, maybe even outlawed if they challenge the official view. The former BBC News Editor (Business and Economics) ROBERT PESTON proposed on BBC Radio in 2018 that experts (including himself) should accompany all debates and should end each debate by judging which side of the argument has the best evidence. In that case, why have the debate in the first place if it's going to be settled by supposed experts? He expressed his opinion in "Economics 101" (BBC Radio 4, 27th July 2018) at the same time when he also hosted the ITV Political discussion show PESTON ON SUNDAY and was ITV News Political Editor. The 'experts' appear to be withdrawing to the side lines of debates as 'impartial' judges, to be replaced by the supposedly ignorant 'non-experts' who will get some limelight for a change, but only to expose their ignorance and to portray them as biased and closed-minded. If the 'experts' have the answers, then perhaps it would be better if they committed themselves more fully to one side of a debate, rather than pretending to remain aloof and impartial. A BBC debate on Brexit in 2019 included the BBC's supposedly 'impartial' Brexit 'expert', CHRIS MORRIS, dubbed the REALITY CHECK CORRESPONDENT. Morris was occasionally consulted during the debate hosted by NICKY CAMPBELL, in which members of the public voiced their opinions (BBC News and BBC Radio 5, March 1st 2019). Part 2 below. Anti-Brexit British Media

Part 2 A Channel 4 documentary (aired a few weeks before the leave date) focussed on the people financially profiting from Brexit, including those who publicly supported Brexit. "The Brexit Millionaires" (March 11th 2019) featured some Brexiteers who had profited from the fall in value of British currency (Sterling), and Brexiteers who had made money from public speeches on Brexit. One person who hadn't benefited – a toy shop owner whose shop had had to close – blamed Brexit. The documentary was written and presented by a centre left journalist, ANTHONY BARNETT, who campaigned for improved democratic institutions. For more on Barnett, see my article "Espionage and the Open Society" in the New Age section of my website. https://thegreatworkdecoded.com In the few months before the official leave date, BBC2 repeated its' spoof history series "Cunk on Britain", created by the anti-Brexit satirist CHARLIE BROOKER ("Black Mirror" creator). In the episode aired on March 11th, the fictional presenter PHILOMENA CUNK talked about the British government making "...stupid mistakes, like Brexit." Part 3 below. Part 3 below

    Openness and Espionage

This continues the thread from the old forum (Big Brother section). You can read my contribution on my website in the New Age section: https://thegreatworkdecoded.com Part 1 Numerous national Intelligence agencies held accounts on social media platforms, e.g. Britain's MI5, MI6 and GCHQ; America's CIA and NSA; all have been on Facebook. Twitter account holders included the CIA, NSA and Britain's GCHQ, of which the latter opened an INSTAGRAM account in 2018. Instagram were owned by Facebook. GCHQ – who collaborated closely with America's NSA – admitted in 2014 that it was legal for British Intelligence to spy on social media accounts. A former GCHQ head, ROBERT HANNIGAN, jumped on the bandwagon when he criticised Facebook in 2018, saying that it needed greater regulation. The regulation of social media in general was inevitable and planned all along by the Ruling Elite. Hannigan (CMG honour) previously served the British PM as Security Adviser, and is credited with making GCHQ more 'open' and 'transparent' in his years as its' Director (2014-17). Israel's national intelligence agency MOSSAD advertised for recruits on its' Facebook account, but denied having a Twitter account in 2019. The pro-Democracy website "openDemocracy", founded in 2001, was funded by – amongst others - the following: George Soros' OPEN SOCIETY FOUNDATIONS; ROCKEFELLER BROTHERS FUND; FORD FOUNDATION; the American government-backed NED (National Endowment For Democracy, which promotes democracy abroad). openDemocracy had partnerships with the LSE; UNITED NATIONS UNIVERSITY; WORLD FORUM FOR DEMOCRACY. openDemocracy was co-founded by the centre left journalist, ANTHONY BARNETT, who campaigned for improved democratic institutions. Barnett studied at Cambridge University where he lodged with the renowned post-Keynesian economist NICHOLAS KALDOR, a LSE lecturer and advisor to the Labour Party government. Kaldor worked at the UN offshoot, the ECONOMIC COMMISSION FOR EUROPE (as Director for Research and Planning). Kaldor's daughter, MARY KALDOR (CBE), wrote for openDemocracy and was a LSE Professor and LSE Director of a unit. Mary Kaldor belonged to the European CFR (a European version of America's CFR) that was funded by Soros' Open Society Foundations. Barnett was the first Director of the centre left British pressure group CHARTER 88, which had begun in conjunction with the centre left magazine NEW STATESMAN. TV and radio shows have promoted more openness and a confessional attitude, such as the popular American sitcom "Friends". The BBC radio presenter SIMON MAYO incorporated his popular CONFESSIONS feature in his BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show (1990s) and in his BBC Radio 2 show in the 21st century, in which members of the public sought absolution for their (often frivolous or humorous) "sins". It spawned a BBC1 TV version that wasn't as successful. Part 2 below. Part 2 below.

    Anti-Brexit British Media

This continues my thread from the old forum (Politics/Elections). You can see my contribution in my website in the Media section: https://thegreatworkdecoded.com Part one Less than a month before the official leaving date, ITV (another public service provider) aired a documentary on the unregulated world of online political campaigning (Brexit in particular) and its' damaging effect on democracy, hence the program's title: "Exposure: Brexit Online Uncovered" (ITV, March 4th 2019). During 2018 and 2019, the BBC ran an advert for their news show "Beyond 100 Days", which contained subtle digs at Brexit and Donald Trump. The advert spliced together brief excerpts of the show's main presenters, KATTY KAY and CHRISTIAN FRASER, talking about Brexit and Trump, then finished with Kay hesitating in a bewildered way, followed by Fraser saying "...we'll move on". The duo have long had a barely suppressed contempt for Trump in particular, which manifests in their conversations with each other when they employ the old media trick of 2 presenters interviewing each other for their opinions. BBC Radio 4 maintained its' usual Brexit negativity in its' long running satirical show "The News Quiz". In an episode broadcast just over a month before the leave date (BBC Radio 4, Feb 15th 2019), all 4 panellists and the host (MILES JUPP) were anti-Brexit, e.g. HUGO RIFKIND, son of the anti-Brexit former senior politician MALCOLM RIFKIND (Conservative party). The panellists were keen to point out the cliché that many Brexit voters were elderly. Panellist PAUL SINHA pointed out sarcastically that Britain had done a Brexit deal with the tiny country, LIECHTENSTEIN, the world capital for false teeth manufacture, "...which means they're playing to the Brexit audience." The host, Miles Jupp, said that Brexit comedians were "...not of our generation", responding to Rifkind's sarcastic comment that it was a scandal that there weren't more pro-Brexit comedians on the show. Panellist SUSAN CALMAN sarcastically countered the show's obvious negative stance towards Brexit by saying that Brexit "...has been very positive for the metaphor industry." Another BBC Radio 4 satirical show, "The Now Show", included an anti-Brexit comedian, IAN MOORE, in an episode aired less than a month before the leave date (March 1st). Moore was English but got French nationality after marrying his French wife. A falling British currency (Sterling), caused by Brexit, did more harm than good, according to the economist PAUL JOHNSON when presenting a program on the subject on BBC Radio 4 not long before the leave date. ("Analysis", Feb 18th 2019). Johnson then was the Director of the influential research institute, the INSTITUTE FOR FISCAL STUDIES. A challenge to nationalism, and the notion of British identity, occurred in a BBC Radio 4 series that began a month before the leave date: "The Invention Of Britain" (1st episode, Feb 24 2019). There was no great revelation to be told by the series' presenter, MISHA GLENNY, that British identity has not been static nor is it ancient, and the same applies to English, Welsh, Scottish and Irish identity. Many English or British monarchs weren't English. The Scottish warrior and national hero ROBERT THE BRUCE might have been born in England, said Glenny. Another identity buster came a month before the official leave date in a CHANNEL 4 documentary on British ancestry that said that "The First Brit" had dark skin and blue eyes ("The First Brit: Secrets of the 10,000-Year-Old Man", Channel 4, Feb 23rd 2019). I disagree with the title "The First Brit", because the evidence came from the DNA of Britain's oldest complete skeleton (to date), estimated to be 10000 years old. Part 2 below.

BASIC INCOME GUARANTEE - What's the snag?

Part 31 A former ROCKEFELLER FOUNDATION employee, KATHERINE McFATE (Deputy Director of its' domestic programs), supported UBI in 2000 along with Emma Rothschild, both of whom voiced their support for BIEN co-founder Phillipe Van Parijs on the BOSTON REVIEW forum. McFate also worked at the FORD FOUNDATION and was President & CEO of a now defunct think tank that advocated a more open, responsive, and effective American government: the CENTRE FOR EFFECTIVE GOVERNMENT. Other Boston Reviewers who supported UBI included: 1) Nobel Prize winner and Artificial Intelligence pioneer, HERBERT A. SIMON, who got Rockefeller Foundation funding early in his career. Simon collaborated with the RAND researcher ALLEN NEWELL; 2) A highly regarded sociologist, FRED L. BLOCK, who wrote some articles for the aforementioned George Soros co-founded think tank, INET. Block shared Soros' admiration for the philosopher KARL POLANYI, and both Block and Soros wanted a reform of capitalism. Block wrote that capitalism's reformation should look to the socialist Karl Marx for guidance. A New Age mix of UBI, meditation and psychedelic experiences were advocated in a book on depression that was endorsed by HILLARY CLINTON and Arianna Huffington: "Lost Connections" (2018), by JOHANN HARI. Other high profile endorsers included: ELTON JOHN; RUSSELL BRAND; musician BRIAN ENO (member of the Yanis Varoufakis co-founded organisation DiEM25); US political talk show host BILL MAHER ('progressive' views; friend of American film maker MICHAEL MOORE; pro-Barack Obama); pro-UBI social activist NAOMI KLEIN; pro-UBI novelist MATT HAIG; the former spokesman for Prime Minister TONY BLAIR – ALASTAIR CAMPBELL (also Blair's Press Secretary). For his book, Hari interviewed UBI proponent RUTGER BREGMAN (see above). Hari wrote for several centre left newspapers; gave a TED talk on addiction; was an arts critic on the BBC2 TV Series "The Review Show". GOOGLE employee and renowned futurist RAY KURZWEIL supported UBI and predicted at a TED conference in 2018 that UBI would be globally widespread by the 2030s. Kurzweil was chosen by Google's co-founder, LARRY PAGE, to be its' Director of Engineering. Part 32 below. Part 32 below.

BASIC INCOME GUARANTEE - What's the snag?

This article continues the thread from the old forum in the New World Order section. You can also see just my contribution in my website in the Business and Economics section. https://thegreatworkdecoded.com Part 30 Numerous top American economists collectively made a proposal in 2019 that the BIEN co-founders Guy Standing and Philippe Van Parijs agreed was a significant step towards UBI – namely that a carbon tax should be implemented, and its' dividends be given to all US citizens. Those economists included several ex-chairmen of the US FEDERAL RESERVE, e.g. ALAN GREENSPAN (CFR, TC, Bilderberg); BEN BERNANKE (Bilderberg) and PAUL VOLCKER (CFR, TC, Bil). Other signatories included:- ex-US Treasury Secretary LARRY SUMMERS; 'nudge theory' advocate RICHARD THALER; the aforementioned AMARTYA SEN (husband of Emma Rothschild); the Nobel Prize winning economist/psychologist DANIEL KAHNEMAN ('Fast' and 'Slow' thinking). Their proposal was published in THE WALL STREET JOURNAL. The 'Green' connection to UBI was seen in 2018 in America with a GREEN NEW DEAL (incorporating UBI) that was proposed by the centre-left Democrat politician dubbed AOC ( ALEXANDRIA OCASIO-CORTEZ), who got endorsements from Barack Obama and the centre-left politician BERNIE SANDERS. Obama and Sanders were both slow to fully support UBI, but eventually gave more encouragement. A UBI for India was advocated by India's Ministry of Finance and by a top Indian economist in 2019: India's Chief Economic Adviser ARVIND SUBRAMANIAN, who wrote an article on the subject in Britain's FINANCIAL TIMES (Feb 7th 2019). Subramanian belonged to the American think tank, the PETERSON INSTITUTE FOR INTERNATIONAL ECONOMICS, founded by a former assistant to HENRY KISSINGER, namely C. FRED BERGSTEN, who belonged to numerous other think tanks: CFR; TC; Bil; Brookings Institute; CARNEGIE ENDOWMENT FOR INTERNATIONAL PEACE. The name PETERSON refers to a longstanding supporter of that institute: PETER PETERSON, a CFR chairman; US Secretary of Commerce; BLACKSTONE GROUP co-founder; LEHMAN BROTHERS Chairman & CEO. A fairly enthusiastic BBC documentary on UBI aired in 2019. Presented by a BBC News Producer and journalist, ERIKA BENKE, her report analysed the UBI experiment by the Finland government that ended at the end of 2018 ("Our World: The Finnish Experiment", BBC News Channel, Feb 2nd 2019). Her report featured 4 Finns who all experienced positive outcomes, with the exception of one who didn't get a job, but still felt emotionally secure. UBI will probably be needed, according to the technology pioneer KEVIN ASHTON, credited with coining the term the INTERNET OF THINGS (IOT) after his involvement in research at MIT that became the basis of the IOT. Ashton expressed his UBI views in 2019 on BBC Radio 4 ("The Bottom Line", Jan 31st 2019). Part 31 below Part 31 below.
